"I
had the desire to interpret the views from the road as we traveled across the
continent last Spring, through South-eastern Ontario, through the State of Michigan, across the Upper
Peninsula, following the northern edge of the US to British Columbia, Canada.
Remnants of snow still clung to
little patches of field edges and hedgerows, but the warming spring sun and
lengthening days were having an effect on the dormant vegetation. The very
subtle colour tones and layers of ready-to-burst buds on trees and hedges were
at their most intense--this is what I wanted to capture as we sped by."
